12U Wasco Warriors Bow Out in Quarterfinals at Cooperstown

The 12U Wasco Warriors' run toward a Cooperstown Dreams Park title came to an end Thursday afternoon with a loss to Heat Baseball of North Carolina.  After falling behind in the 3rd inning, the Warriors staged a comeback to take a one run lead.  However, Heat Baseball posted a rally of their own to win by a score of 15-8.  The Warriors appearance in the "Elite 8" marks the third consecutive year that a 12U team representing Wasco Baseball has advanced to the quarterfinal round.  Congratulations, Warriors, on an excellent tournament!

2008 Fall Baseball Registration To Close Friday, July 25th!

Registration for the 2008 Wasco Baseball fall season will be coming to a close on Friday, July 25th, at 6:00pm!  Be sure to register now to ensure that space is available and avoid late fees.  The season begins in September and concludes in late October. Games are played at field locations in the Wasco/St. Charles area.
 
The season includes post-season tournaments at the Minor, Major, Pony and Colt League levels with a Recreation and Competitive level. Leagues, ages and fees are as follows:

There is a Competitive and Recreational level for the Minor, Major and Pony leagues.  If you want to enter a full team at hte competitive level or in Pee Wee and Instructional Leagues, you must follow the team formation rules in our Important Docs section of the Wasco Baseball website. Also, please review the rules regarding roster size for all leagues and what to do if you want to play at the Competitive level and do not have a full 12 player roster. Managers should notify your commissioner with your roster. Player and Manager registration is online today at the Sign In button in the left margin. If you do not have a sign in account, please use the Create Account button.
 
Registration closes on July 25th at 6:00pm, or sooner, if leagues become filled. Late registrations will be taken after this date, if space is available, and an additional $25 late fee will be charged. Fall Playups are Back for 2008

To be eligible to tryout a player must be within one year of the minimum age requirement for that  league, as of 4/30/08.

Example:

PeeWee - No tryout

Instructional - Must be 5 on 4/30/08

Minor - Must be 7 on 4/30/08

Major - Must be 9 on 4/30/08

Pony - Must be 11 on 4/30/08

Colt - No Colt Play-ups: Any player entering HS who does not meet the minimum age requirement for Colt does not need to attend a Colt play-up tryout.  Instead, please indicate your son’s intent to play-up in the registration comments section or contact the Colt commissioner.  A player entering eighth grade will only be considered for Colt if the player has had experience playing travel or all-star baseball and is recommended by an approved Colt manager

Anyone who played travel or played for one of the Wasco All Star teams in '08 may play up one level without trying out.

Tryouts will be held at LaFox Field #2 on Sat 8/2 from 9 - 12pm. Rain date Sun 8/3 from 1 - 4pm

Scheduled times for each league are:

Instructional: Sat. 9:00 - 9:45am or Sun 1:00 - 1:45pm

Minor: Sat. 9:45 - 10:30am or Sun. 1:45 - 2:30pm

Major: Sat. 10:30 - 11:15am or Sun. 2:30 - 3:15pm

Ponyt: Sat. 11:15 - 12pm or Sun. 3:15 - 4pm

NOTE: THERE WILL ONLY BE TRYOUTS ON SUN IF SAT TRYOUTS ARE CANCELLED.

Fall Umpire Registration and Training

Umpire registration for Wasco Baseball’s fall season will be open soon. To register, please visit www.wascobaseball.com, sign in at the left margin, and click “Umpire Registration”. If you have yet to sign in, you must create an account at the bottom of the left margin before doing so.
 
Umpire training will take place on Saturday, August 16th, from 8:30am-12:30pm at LaFox Fields. Please meet at the concession stand. All first-time umpires are required to attend, as are those who were unable to attend the spring umpire training session. Training is optional for returning umpires.

10U All-Stars slaughter their way into the Championship

The Wasco 10U All-Stars slaughtered their way into the Championship Game in The Lisle Summer Classic over the July 12th weekend.  They scored 37 total runs in two games.  They came in second place for the tournament losing a close Championship Game 10-8.

10U All-Stars place third in McHenry Classic

The Wasco 10U All-Stars placed third in the McHenry Classic over the July 19th weekend.  They outscored their opponents 30-3 in the three wins, two victories by slaughter.

11U All-Stars Take McHenry Championship!

Wasco 8U Wins Barrington Tourney

The Wasco 8U All-Star team recently won the Barrington Classic Player Pitch tournament, held at the Field of Dreams complex in Barrington, during the weekend of June 25-28th.  They went 5-0, playing great defense and shutting out three opponents. Only six runs were scored against them.  It was a total team effort.

Instructional will be all "coach pitch" this Fall / Play up try outs

The Instructional League (ages 6 and 7) will return to the standard  all "coach pitch" for the Fall (ie Red Division).  The Blue Division ( player pitch) should return next spring. 

Reminder:  Fall Baseball Play up tryouts are on August 2nd from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at La Fox Fields

2008 Fall Manager Registration IS OPEN!!!

Fall 2008 Manager Registration is now open. Please sign in using the login for your player. There will be a box in the upper Right hand corner that you can click to complete your registration. The manager registration will produce a code that should be used during player registration for team placement. Please give the code out to your team/players for registration.  Also indicate in the comments section the division you will be coaching (Recreation or Competitive). Please see our team formation rules in Important Documents for more information.

If you are not signing up to be on a specific team, you can register now by clicking "Sign In" (or "Create Account" if you have not already setup an account).
