posted 06/25/2009 Recognized as one of the premier travel baseball organizations in the western suburbs, Wasco Baseball will be electing travel managers for the 2010 season at its July board meeting. The Board of Directors will look to elect one manager at the 9U level and two managers at each of the 10U-14U levels.
Applicants for the position of travel manager should have an in-depth knowledge of the game, the ability to effectively relate to and communicate with young players and their families, and a willingness to follow the Code of Conduct as set forth by the league. Applicants must also be prepared to commit the time necessary during the winter months, as well as the regular season, to properly prepare for competition.
Whereas the Board is not required to elect travel managers for each level, the existence of a team is contingent upon the identification of qualified managers as well as the ability to identify enough players capable of competing at this higher level of competition.
Individuals interested in being considered for the position of travel manager should submit a coaching resume, detailing their baseball coaching experience, to Rob Testo, Director of Travel & Tournaments, at
, no later than Sunday, July 12, 2009. Candidates should be prepared to present their credentials at the league board meeting on July 16, 2009, at 8:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Campton Township Community Center on Old LaFox Road about ½ mile north of Route 64. For more information, please contact Rob Testo at (847) 650-2486 or at the e-mail listed above.
