Sliding Rule Reiterated By Director Of Umpires- Schenck
If a runner does not slide or veer to avoid contact he is called out. Contact does not have to be made if the action causes a fielder to alter his play. Both types are considered interference. Interference and obstruction are the least understood rules of baseball.- Pat Schenck= Director of Umpires

League Advisory: Legal Size Bats
The Board Of Directors for Wasco Baseball recently discussed and determined the league's standard for legal size bats as follows: Bats for Minor League, Instructional and Pee Wee shall not be greater than 2 1/4 inch diameter. Bats of big barrel design allowed in Major League and up.
