New for Spring 2026: Wasco Softball

After years of requests from our members, Wasco Baseball is thrilled to announce that starting Spring 2026, we will officially offer Wasco Softball leagues.

Since 1986, Wasco has provided a fun, family-focused baseball experience. Now, we’re bringing that same tradition, organization, and community focus to softball. Just as importantly: this will not take away from Wasco Baseball. In fact, both programs will benefit by growing together. Families with players in both baseball and softball will especially see the advantage of having everything in one place.

What to Expect

  • Age Levels: Our goal is to offer recreational softball starting at Tee Ball (age 4) through elementary school, and into middle school as numbers allow.

  • Quality & Convenience: Games and practices will be at Wasco fields, making it easier for families with both baseball and softball players. Field space is not an issue—we have the capacity to fully support both sports.

  • Fun & Development: Our focus is on Recreational Softball, providing a positive, local experience where girls can learn the game, grow their skills, and have fun with friends.

  • Commitment: Our existing Board of Directors will actively oversee and support both Wasco Baseball and Wasco Softball. To ensure success, we are also adding dedicated softball board members, giving both leagues the leadership and attention they deserve.

Wasco Softball – Quick FAQ

Will this take away from Wasco Baseball?

No. Our Board of Directors will continue to fully support baseball while also growing softball. To ensure success, we are also adding softball-specific board positions, giving both leagues the leadership and attention they deserve. In fact, we believe both programs will benefit by building together.

Do we have enough fields?

Yes. Field space is not an issue—we have the capacity to support both baseball and softball without compromise.

Is Wasco Softball affiliated with other organizations?

No. Wasco Softball is not affiliated with any other local organizations. We are starting fresh, under the leadership of the Wasco Baseball Board of Directors, with the goal of building the area’s premier recreational softball program.

Will you offer travel softball in 2026?

No. Wasco Softball will begin as a Recreational Softball program in 2026, focused on providing a fun, local experience. Our priority is building strong recreational leagues close to home. That said, if you have a daughter interested in Travel Softball, we recommend checking out Wasco Diamonds  who is based in the Wasco area.

What ages will be supported?

We will begin at age 4 with Tee Ball, and leagues will be grade-based as players grow through elementary school and into middle school (depending on enrollment).

Are there boundaries on who can participate?

No. Wasco Softball has no residency or boundary restrictions—anyone and everyone is welcome to join.

When will registration open?

Official registration will open on January 1st, 2026, with the season beginning in early April 2026.
